TOURISMO: Steering Committee Meeting… and More!
Full of events and packed with activities, our TOURISMO project continues at a fast pace!
It has been a little while since the 4th Project Technical and Steering Committee Meeting, held on September 10–11, 2025, in the stunning locations of Komiža and Biševo, Croatia. We waited a few days before sharing this update, busy with semester reporting and finalizing reports to upload on the Interreg platform—essential tasks for a project with a total budget of nearly €3 million.
September 10 – 4th Project Technical and Steering Committee Meeting – Komiža
The meeting kicked off with a warm welcome from our Croatian partner RERA S.D. at the Geopark Vis Archipelago – Visitor Center in Komiža. The day featured a well-structured program that fostered a collaborative and constructive environment.
Highlights of the day included:
- Review of the financial plan.
- Deep dive into Work Package 1, focusing on the refinement of the TOURISMO platform and the definition of pilot actions.
- Updates on Work Package 2, concerning the implementation and evaluation of tests.
- Field visit to the Komiža pilot area, allowing participants to observe project applications in practice.
September 11 – 4th Project Technical and Steering Committee Meeting – Biševo
On September 11, activities continued at the Blue Cave Visitor Center (“Modra špilja”) in Biševo, focusing on Work Package 3, dedicated to exploitation, sustainability, and scaling up results.
Key discussions included:
- Updates on communication and dissemination activities.
- Strategies for knowledge transfer and coordination with related initiatives.
- Planning for the fourth semester, carefully defined to meet upcoming project deadlines.
The day concluded with study visits in the pilot areas of Vis and Biševo, providing tangible opportunities to observe progress in sustainable tourism and ongoing experimental actions.
