TOURISMO Infoday Workshop: February 11–12, 2025 – Sharing Knowledge and Driving Sustainable Tourism
On February 11 and 12, 2025, the Fondazione per la Ricerca e l’Innovazione organized the TOURISMO Infoday Workshop, an important event for exchanging insights and discussing emerging challenges in the tourism sector. The workshop gathered experts and key stakeholders to explore strategies for promoting responsible tourism, enhancing the livability of destinations, and fostering active dialogue among sector actors.
Sustainable Tourism Challenges: February 11 – Firenze Welcome Center
The first day offered a comprehensive overview of TOURISMO’s objectives, activities, and expected results, highlighting the evolution from HERIT-DATA to TOURISMO. The new project builds on previous experiences by integrating innovative tools and AI-driven data analysis to mitigate the impacts of mass tourism.
Key sessions included:
- Presentation of TOURISMO’s main initiatives, focusing on AI-based solutions for optimizing tourist flows.
- Introduction of Snap4City, the project’s IT platform, which integrates advanced sensor data and AI systems to provide intuitive dashboards for public authorities and sector operators.
- Showcase of the Florence pilot project and transnational experiences, enabling dialogue between local stakeholders and international partners.
- Interactive Q&A session, stimulating a dynamic exchange of ideas and insights.

February 12 – Snap4City Training Session
On the second day, at the Plesso Didattico Morgagni, the DISIT Lab led a training session for partners, focusing on Snap4City and its strategic role in territorial governance.
Training highlights:
- Detailed overview of Snap4City tools.
- Hands-on guidance for creating advanced dashboards, integrating and analyzing complex datasets.
- Practical exercises for tailored solutions to manage tourist destinations intelligently.
