The deliverable D2.1 “Craft Sector Skills Panorama Report” has been published, prepared by the Fondazione per la Ricerca e l’Innovazione for the Erasmus+ RESKILLING CRAFTS project, an initiative aimed at strengthening the craft sector through digital and sustainable approaches.
The report represents a key outcome of the project’s initial phase, providing an up-to-date, evidence-based overview of skills needs in the European craft sector. It offers an in-depth analysis of the main characteristics and transformations affecting the sector across Europe, with a particular focus on partner countries. Special attention is given to digitalization, sustainability, and shifts in socio-economic models.
The analysis is based on a mixed research methodology, combining desk research with the collection of primary data through surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
Among the main findings, several critical issues emerge, including gaps in entrepreneurial and managerial skills, challenges in the advanced adoption of digital technologies, and the need for a more structured development of green skills. The report also highlights the central role of creative skills and informal learning pathways within the sector.
This deliverable makes a significant contribution to the objectives of the RESKILLING CRAFTS project by providing a solid knowledge base for the design of targeted training interventions and the development of tools to support the sector’s digital and sustainable transition.
The findings help guide the project’s future activities, fostering the development of concrete solutions to strengthen artisans’ skills and support the sector’s competitiveness and resilience at the European level.
The deliverable was developed thanks to the joint contribution of the RESKILLING CRAFTS project partners, with Fondazione per la Ricerca e l’Innovazione responsible for coordinating data systematization activities and drafting the final report.
