Better Managing Tourist Flows to Make Florence More Livable
Managing tourist flows more effectively means making Florence more enjoyable—both for residents and visitors. The pilot test by the Comune di Firenze is now imminent, with the installation of thermal cameras in the streets of the UNESCO city center to monitor tourist flows in real time.
Within the European TOURISMO Project, thanks to the collaboration between the Università degli Studi di Firenze and the Fondazione per la Ricerca e l’Innovazione, the municipality will be able to acquire valuable data to better manage access and routes, prevent overcrowding, and safeguard the quality of life for residents.
Through innovative tools and advanced technologies, Florence is increasingly becoming a smart city: open and welcoming, yet attentive to people’s well-being and sustainability.
